Congregation Ahavat Shalom was founded in 2003 under the leadership of Rabbi Maimon Badush and Mr. Maurice Peretz. Rabbi Badush recognized the need for a Moroccan Minyan in Brooklyn, NY that would serve as a Bet Midrash and Synagogue, catering to the growing number of Moroccan Jews seeking to deepen their Talmudic knowledge while preserving ancient traditions and customs (minhagim).

Over the years, we’ve successfully taught the importance of balancing learning and prayer in a harmonious, loving, and respectful environment, which is what our shul is well known for.
Many families have benefited from our shul’s unique approach.

While we may be a small shul, our warm and welcoming atmosphere has made everyone who has passed through our doors over the years feel part of a larger family.
